Dentures & Partials An Overview
Dentures are one of the most traditional methods used to replace a full arch of missing teeth. A partial denture, similar to a dental bridge is commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth.
When patients are missing teeth, it can often result in difficulty eating and speaking, bone loss, and loss of self-confidence. Due to current advancements in restorative dentistry, there are more options for replacing missing teeth than ever before. Patients are able to restore their missing teeth with natural looking, long-lasting tooth replacement solutions.
Dr. Melanie Andrews routinely places dentures and partials in our Destrehan dentist office. We use state of the art dental technology and methods to create beautiful, high-quality dentures.
There are two main types of dentures:
- Removable Dentures: Removable dentures are designed to fit comfortably in the mouth. Patients can remove their dentures at any time. In some cases, dentures may require adhesive to hold them into place.
- Fixed Dentures: Fixed dentures, or implant secured dentures, offer patients a more stable, permanent solution for missing teeth. Implant secured dentures offer several advantages over traditional dentures for oral health and quality of life.
Dr. Andrews works with patients on an individual basis to determine the most appropriate option. After a full evaluation and a consultation to discuss your dental health and cosmetic goals, budget, and lifestyle, Dr. Andrews will recommend the best solution for restoring your smile.
